After 20 years as “Independent” and being the leading advocay group representing Title Examiners in Massachusetts, the MITEA Board of Directors and Members voted to dissolve MITEA on Dec. 31, 2025 and to Endorse the New England Title Examiners Association, Inc., (NETEA) Est. Dec. 1, 2025.

Please be advised that on December 30, 2025, Massachusetts Independent Title Examiners Association, Inc. (“MITEA”) filed a Complaint with the Essex Superior Court, Civil Action No. 2577CV01433, seeking to dissolve MITEA and transfer MITEA’s remaining assets to New England Title Examiner’s Association, Inc. (“NETEA”). Copies of the Complaint for Voluntary Dissolution and supporting documents may be retrieved from the Essex Superior Court Clerk’s Office. Any objections to the Complaint for Voluntary Dissolution or the transfer of MITEA’s assets to NETEA should be sent by email to Denald Doonan at MITEANews@aol.com and Brian C. Linehan, Esq. at bl@dgandl.com on or before March 23, 2026. A hearing on the Complaint for Voluntary Dissolution will take place on March 24, 2026, at 2:05 pm at the Essex Superior Court, Newburyport Session, Second Floor, Courtroom 1, 145 High Street, Newburyport, MA 01950.
